We knew that the S-Class user interface on the Arena was a joy to use, but now the beautiful and intuitive design has been officially recognised, with an iF Communication Design Award.
Winning the Gold in the ‘Product Interfaces’ Category, the S-Class 3D interface was one of only 30 winners from a field of over 1,300.
“Through recognition from this prestigious organization, LG has once again proven its design expertise and innovation not only in physical appearance but also in user interface,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “LG will continue to lead with products that enhance the user experience.”
The S-Class UI is now on a range of LG handsets, including the LG Viewty Smart GC900 and LG GD900 Crystal.

Until we get our eager mitts on the LG Arena we have to rely on hearsay, speculation and the occasional video. Well, here’s a turn up for the books, an actual review of the LG Arena KM900 with photos from 3G.co.uk.
Interesting points:
- It’s so lightweight that the phone feels as if it should be quite low-tech
- The S-Class UI is a tad disappointing but makes navigating the phone tremendously easy
- Thumbs up for 5 megapixel camera and 8GB internal memory
- Battery life is an improvement on previous models
- A first rate media phone

LG have developed a really cool UI for the KM900, the 3D S-Class but why confine it to only one handset? Well, those kind folks at LG are trying to spread the 3D S-Class love by bringing out a whole raft of new handsets that include the S-CLass UI. The new Viewty 2 will include the S-Class UI, and LG have just announced that their Cookie handset, the KP500 will also come with it.
